The Irish Memorial at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This is dedicated to the 600 members of the Irish Brigade that fought at Gettysburg in the Civil War, and were either wounded or killed. At the feet of the Celtic Cross lies one of their mascots, a faithful Irish Wolfhound.

Trail of Tears National Historic Trail- This trail follows the path of the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Muscogee-Creek and Seminole Indians of 1831, where they were marched from their homelands to Oklahoma. The Trail of Tears was established as a National Historic Trail in order to acknowledge a dark time in the country's past. The trail bisects numerous state parks and forests as well as national forests, and goes through some of the most scenic mountains and upland plains of the southeast.

Fort Sumter is a coastal fortification in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. It is made in a Third System masonry, which was a very ambitious sea coast defensive system built after the War of 1812. Fort Sumter was named after General Thomas Sumter. It is best known to be the site of the Battle of Fort Sumter, which took place in 1861 and marked the beginning of the Civil War. Granted this, the site is also where the first shots during the said war were fired.
