  • Marybeth Elizabeth

Blessed Pope John Paul II was the head of the Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005. In 1978 he became the first non-Italian pope in more than 400 years. He was a vocal advocate for human rights and used his influence to effect political change. He was an inspiring leader with great faith and love for the people of God. He travelled to many countries to bring the message of Jesus to the world. He even forgave the person who tried to kill him. He loved children and youth, and they loved him too.

His way of praying.” “It wasn’t his work that impressed; but his quality of prayer,” “John Paul II prayed with his entire life, his whole life was a prayer,” Cardinal Dziwisz reflected, that he would pray constantly for different people, events, priests, bishops, political situations, persons he met, and especially those who suffered.

"Through Mary, we come to her Son more easily." ~ Pope John Paul II  A reply to belovedm28 (since you used the reply feature, I cannot respond to you directly) Of course, Jesus is the mediator between man and God. He alone is our Saviour and Redeemer. He has also given us a great gift by entrusting His mother to bring us ever closer to Him. Why would we reject her prayers and guidance when all that she desires is to lead us to Him?  Mary… always pointing us to her son, Jesus …
