SPRINKLE BAKING SODA ON WEEDS TWICE A YEAR TO KILL AND PREVENT GROWTH

Fall Mulching ....No Weeding!

We'll be doing something similar to this in our backyard beds that aren't included in my flower garden to keep the weeds out and prevent the yard guys from ruining my beds!

Instead of purchasing expensive landscape cloth, use several sheets of newspaper as you would landscape cloth. Wet the newspaper, then cover with mulch. It allows moisture into the soil and blocks most weeds for at least 3 years. Eventually the newspaper composts into the soil.

TIPS FOR WEED CONTROL FOR EVERY SEASON!! Eliminate weeds and keep them away with minimum time and effort by choosing the proper herbicide and applying it in a timely way. This works for both grassy weeds and broadleaf weeds.

Put clean cardboard in bottom of raised bed as grass and weed barrier before filling with soil.

How to prevent weeds in your lawn

The newspaper will prevent any grass and weed seeds from germinating, but unlike fabric, it will decompose after about 18 months. By that time, any grass and weed seeds that were present in the soil on planting will be dead. It’s green, it’s cheaper than fabric, and when you decide to remove or redesign the bed later on, you will not have the headache you would with fabric.
