“People hide their truest nature. I understood that; I even applauded it. What sort of world would it be if people bled all over the sidewalks, if they wept under trees, smacked whomever they despised, kissed strangers, revealed themselves?” ― Alice Hoffman, The Ice Queen

3.5 stars ==> #24 of 50: The Ice Queen [2005] by Alice Hoffman (p). Audio Book from the library. So interesting to listen to. I'm not sure what any of my book club girls would think of this story about people who have been struck by lightening, but I found it super interesting.

Alice Hoffman is so hit or miss. I ended up liking this one, but I thought it could have been longer. I felt like it ended without closure, which was weird. Still worth the read, though.
