Modern Mrs. Darcyfrom Modern Mrs. Darcy

45 seriously spooky (but not quite scary) books.

If you love a good spine-chilling mystery, or gripping psychological thriller, but won't go near horror novels because they make you lose sleep at night, this is the reading list for you. These 45 books are seriously spooky, but not out-and-out scary.

I was unsure what to expect when I picked this book but once I started reading, I fell in love w/Victoria who speaks to people using the language of flowers. She was abandoned as a baby and raised in a series of foster homes, abused and neglected. Her “childhood” experiences have left her emotionally withdrawn & unable to attach. This is a powerful, moving story about forgiveness and 2nd chances. As you read the book, you learn that we all have the capacity to change, grow, forgive and love

Tender Is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald is set in France and is some of the most beautiful prose ever put to paper.

my favorite of Adriana Trigiani; they are all good though. listened to this on an audiobook, then read the book straight through
