Bewitched was my Favorite TV Show. I loved the magic and twitching of the nose and everything seemed to turn out OK in the end. I can remember a lady coming to our small 2 roomed flat where my family of 5 lived when I was 8 yrs old (now 56!). She was completing a door to door survey on what TV shows the family liked best. How times have changed!
Though Julia (1968-71, NBC) is now remembered as being a groundbreaking TV series, while on the air, it was derided by critics for being apolitical and unrealistic. Diahann Carroll herself remarked in 1968, "At the moment we're presenting the white Negro. And he has very little Negroness."
LOL, these were my favorite toys to play with when I was little! I would create homes for them with the Fisher Price house and furniture along with those blocks that came in a blue square, orange cylinders, yellow have moon rectangles and red retangle blocks! I would love to have them today!!!
The Uncle played in many of the first and second season episodes of Green Acres. The only character on Petticoat Junction that I thought was obnoxious! Not a role example for sure! Otherwise - this show was zany and a semi-real and entertaining capture of what rural America was believed to encounter along the tracks of backwoods life.
The Carol Burnett Show ...when tv was filled with real humor... remember the Gone with the Wind spoof when Carol Burnett wore the curtains?? And who could ever forget Tim Conway as the dentist who kept giving himself novocane!!!!! Hilarious!!!!
