May make this tomorrow or Friday! Vegan - Chili Con Corn- not sure about this one. There seems to be a lot of canned and bottled ingredients. I'd probably add more fresh veggies, nix the BBQ sauce, and replace it with chili powder, cayenne pepper, and white wine vinegar. And some other spice too but the combination is not coming to me. So basically, change the whole recipe. :P
Isa Chandra Moskowitz's vegan tofu omelet. The texture/flavor was ever so slightly odd, but just because unfamiliar. We did our own filling (onion, peppers, mushrooms), and added it right to the cooking omelet after separate sauteeing. Next time more oil in the pan for a more fried texture would be nice. Mixed up in seconds in our new food processor, and served with rye toast.
A cool, creamy, tangy dip that’s calling out for a potato chip or baby carrot sacrifice. No BBQ is complete without ranch dip! But since ranches are sad places, and since I am throwing a BBQ tonight in honor of Gene Baur and Farm Sanctuary’s Just Eats tour, I’m calling it Sanctuary Dip. (Not to be confused with the Sanctuary Dressing in Appetite For Reduction.)
