A coinciding show we have been looking forward to ever since we interviewed Australian artist Ashley Wood in our November 2011 issue: Wood and February 2012 cover artist, Jeremy Geddes, are set to open two solo shows at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in NYC this Saturday, October 20. Geddes' Exhale and Wood's Machine Sabbath both have the Australian artists showing new works with a high anticipation throughout the art world.

This series of cosmonauts painted by the talented Jeremy Geddes meet realism, futurism and fantasy at a time. His repetition of the figure of "Astronaut" gives a mysterious touch to his work. A genius!

There are those special colors that can only be heard, splashing their many shades with a few simple words. They dive into the heart and paint a portrait grand, for peace, love, and hope born in the soul of man. Tragic are the deaf ears and blind eyes can never see what it is we were truly meant to be. Let us touch this whispered breath, wrap our soul around these thoughts, and finally obtain the freedom we have sought. J. Freeman

Vladmir Kush is an artist I have admired for a long time. I remember seeing his paintings in high school and I would always find myself staring at them for a long time. Kush is a surrealist who produced many oil paintings. These painting became more popular later when he was able to sell them through prints. He always referred to his style as "metaphorical realism"

AH! I would totally love to have this...if it didn't threaten to give me horrible nightmares and keep me away from a pool forever. Put a scuba mask on the kid, and it turns into fun!
