The student applies mathematical process standards to develop concepts of expressions and equations. The student is expected to: (H) represent and solve problems related to perimeter and/or area and related to volume.
CHEEZ-IT Area & Perimeter: "What a great way to introduce the concept of area and perimeter to kids! Start out creating squares and rectangles and find the area, perimeter. Then, have kids construct irregular polygons.
Area/Perimeter robots - get the children to draw robots and write the area and perimeter of each section (Sally Maddison) Or. you could give them an area and perimeter and have them design their own robot within the criteria.
