I had a whole plan drawn up to make a headboard out of an old door and everyone said I was crazy...that it wouldn't look right. Then look what I find on Etsy! I love how he put the tin ceiling tiles in it too. Amazing....

I could make this headboard. Make a wooden frame with a second thin board to insert - cover with light padding and fabric - would be easy to change the fabic if you want to change the style of the room later.

Barnwood Head Board I made this and love it! Mine is a little different. I was able to find boards that are red, grey and yellow with mold. The boards that I used were uneven and hail damaged. They even come with a little bird poop! Mine is this tall too but its too tall for our room. I'm going to have to cut the boards down a little shorter.

Quilt headboard--easy to change with the seasons. Toppers quilts from the Possibilities book of the same name would be terrific!

Bright colors like pink and green are a nice change......watch out for orange, though. It's a fightin' color.

This project took 6 hours to complete and for under 100 bucks is the best tufted headboard I’ve ever seen.  It requires a little more supplies like foam, plywood, a few bolts and some fabric but the resulting piece totally worth it. Just look at it! It resembles very well a really expensive leather couch, and the contrast is marvelous.{found on apartmenttherapy}.
