beautiful cut-out canvas - @Sherry @ Young House Love - this looks like something you might like. You could leave them see through to see the color of the wall behind or it'd be easy enough to put craft paper behind which would be easy enough to change with the seasons or new decor.
This is a super easy and cheap way to get a pop of color in any room! The whole project cost under twenty dollars! I started out by going to Lowe's and buy a 1 ft x 10 ft shelving board. Next I had them cut it down for me ( yeah I am lazy like that ;) into 12 inch by 12 inch squares.
