The change of color in Ceja Vineyard's Pinot Noir grape berries is absolutely stunning! --- This image is genuine, photographed during veraison, which is the onset of ripening. Cabernet Franc is a red wine grape that is used for both blending and as a single varietal wine. MostIy grown in France (especially the Loire Valley), it is also produced in Italy, Hungary, Canada and the United States. Its flavor and aromas bring to mind raspberries, black currants, violets and grapite. It can also have a vegetal aspect that ranges from leafy to green bell peppers. Cabernet Franc is one of the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon, when it was crossed with Sauvignon Blanc.

Cabernet Franc is probably my very favorite red grape. I am not sure how it happened but one day I tasted a Cabernet Franc and fell in LOVE with him. While he may not be as big and bold and a Cabernet Sauvignon, he provides big structure, big flavors, and a nice mouth feel with lots of good spiciness, green peppers and Tannins!

Sauvignon Blanc grapes on the vine

Picking grapes off of our grape vine in the 60s ! I loved that grapevine and these are the type of grapes that grew on it.
Sauvignon Blanc grapes: originating in Bordeaux, floral/herbaceous. In cooler climates more grassy with a hint of tropical fruit with a lot of acidity, in warmer may be more fruity but less aromatic, more tree fruity. Loire Valley in New Zealand is good.
LOVE green grapes. I used to cut them in half for you, and you'd eat them in your highchair!
