The Rainbow Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta) or 'MINDANAO GUM' looks almost like it's been spray painted, but the up to 70-m tall tree is colored this way completely naturally. Its bark can take on a yellow, green, orange and even purple shading. If you want to spot a Rainbow Eucalyptus tree live and in all its glory, you’ll have to travel to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea or Philippines where the tree grows natively.

Rainbow Eucalyptus or Painted Tree (Eucalyptus deglupta) Each year patches of bark are shed – but at different times. This exposes the bright green inner bark. The almost luminescent bark then matures giving way to the rainbow effect. First it turns blue, then, in order, orange, purple, and maroon. Found mostly in New Guinea, New Britain and Sulawesi. In the pulpwood plantations of the Philippines it is used for the production of pulpwood. A huge evergreen, it can grow up to 75m tall.

Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree in Maui. It might look like someone painted these by hand, but the only artist responsible for these living works of art, is Mother Nature.
