    Gentle parenting... I love this. I hate, hate, hate when other people comment on your parenting style. Every child is different and as a mother, you have instincts on what works with your child. What some call "enabling" or "babying" is meeting that child's need. If it isn't hurting anyone else, people should shut their mouths and worry about parenting their own kid.

This is amazingly true, surprisingly even with very small children. How can you expect them to follow directions, when you won't even listen to their requests? Keep in mind that listening & giving in are two different things.
