"Maybe there's something you're afraid to say, or someone you're afraid to love, or somewhere you're afraid to go. It's gonna hurt. It's gonna hurt because it matters." John Green.

If you say your living each day like its your last then the past shouldn't matter whether its a day or two weeks even a year or more since someone said something mean or hurtful to you. Dont say your living for the fullest because living in the past is just that rerunning everything threw your brain making you hurt once again. Move on!!!!

What strong people do

Years of hurt and pain. Praying God will soften my heart again.

tell me tell me if you ever cared, if a single thought for me was spared. tell me when you lie in bed, do you think of something i once said. tell me if you hurt at all, when someone says my name with yours. it may have been so long ago, but i would give the world to know.

Breakups hurt, but losing someone who doesn't respect and appreciate you is actually a gain, not a loss.

Focusing a huge amount of our attention on past hurtful events can force us to be so blinkered that we start to forget present events.

There's always that one person that causes you to lie through your teeth. You'll lie like a dog about being so helplessly in love with them that it makes your heart physically ache every single time you see them or even so much as hear their name. It can hurt, lying that much. But not as much as the alternative. So you lie.

I am light, and in Me there is no darkness at all. Seek in Me the perfection you have longed for all your life. Because of the brokenness of this world, you always need a refuge—but especially in times of trouble. When you are hurting, I yearn to shelter you in My powerful, loving Presence. So turn to Me in tough times, and you will find Me faithful. Many of My children fail to receive My help during difficult times because they don’t really trust Me.

PTSD Infographic. PTSD is part of the genetic makeup of our culture--all the hurt & pain that is exposed through violence, domestic abuse, and ANY event that has been traumatic for us. Some of this we're unconscious of. Most mental illness stems from varying degrees of PTSD...all the cues and triggers that have catalyzed our behaviors and patterned mindsets. Most of these problems are rooted before the age of 7. (Arrested Emotional Development)

I love this. The first time I had my heart broken my Mom gave me an old newspaper clipping of this poem.
