Teaching geography? Make Pumpkin Globes! - Tape down the continents and paint the pumpkin blue. The next day, remove the continents and color them in green with marker. Put two rubber bands around the pumpkin to represent the equator and voila, Pumpkin Globe!
This is a very simple book that my class will be making this week. First we will brainstorm animals that might go inside the mitten in our own story. Then each student will write a page. We might even come up with our own ending! You can use these pages however you like.
Here is a class book we created. I read the story Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer to my students. Then we brainstormed all the places Rudolph could go in Santa’s sleigh the day after Christmas. The students came up with some pretty good places, including New York, Tokyo and Detroit. The skyline of New York is priceless.
