We decided to skip color today and have some fun with black and white. I was originally going to set up a painting invitation so they could have fun mixing. However, paints have been short-lived lately, especially for my 17M old. Since it is hard to get black and white playdough in bigger amounts I decided to make my own. After some research I found this recipe that I absolutely LOVE! It was easy, made with stuff I had on hand, cheap, and wonderful to work with. Credit is give to the website below. She goes in more depth about the dough if you are interested.
Homemade Playdough 1 c. flour 1/2 cup salt 1 T. cooking oil 1 T. cream of tartar 1 c. water Food coloring of your choice Add-ins of your choice (i.e. spices, extracts, glitter, etc.) Mix dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and mix. Add to a pan (I just used a non-stick deep frying pan) and cook over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until dough forms into a ball and isn't wet anymore.
