The Spindle, consisted of 8 cars impaled on a spike, was a sculpture created in 1989 by Dustin Shuler. It was located in Berwyn, Illinois at Cermak Plaza. It wasn't exactly on route 66 but was one of the first attractions of Route 66 you saw after leaving Chicago, Illinois.
