Summer House on the Drina River in Bajina Basta, Zlatibor, Serbia. Built by the owner and his friends, it's survived multiple floods. by Katarina Stefanovic.
The owners brought in natural granite to emulate the native landscape, covered the exterior in dark-stained cedar shingles and stone, and opted for a gambrel roof that allows for a semi second storey without towering above the trees.
Ever since architect Armin Blasbichler was a child, he had the idea to build a house that looked just like the log stacks and let the home blend into the scenery that he had grown up with. The result is der Muslhaufen, which sits in Lüsen, not far from the Dolomites.
Dress Up Your Walkway Transform your front walk into a stylish statement by edging it in easy-care plants such as variegated hosta and boxwood. Conjure even more magic by putting a gentle curve in the path; it will offer your walkway with a soft, gentle look.
I like the atmosphere this house has, as well as the style. I want a wrap-around porch with balcony, though, working shutters, and most certainly a garret. :)
i will paint a garage or workshop blue someplace on the property for certain. Lake home cottage house.
