In 2004, 84-year-old Kenyan KIMANI NGA MARUGE became the oldest primary school pupil in the world. He said that the government's announcement of universal and free elementary education in 2003 prompted him to enroll. A year later, he was elected head boy of his school. In September 2005, Maruge boarded a plane for the first time in his life, and headed to New York City to address the UN Millennium Development Summit on the importance of free primary education.
Meet Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher of North Carolina. They have been married 85 years (86 in May) and hold the Guinness World Record for the longest marriage of a living couple and get this…. Zelmyra is 101 years old and Herbert is 104. --------- Awwwww!
A 22-year-old Nigerian student named Emmanuel Ohuabunwa has broke the record for highest GPA in the history of John Hopkins University after graduating from the prestigious school with a 3.98 GPA on a 4.0 scale. He received a degree in Neurosciences and he plans to continue his studies at Yale Medical School so that he can gain a degree in Medicine. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
So hard to read a look at I know, but this is a world that we are unaware of in the US, or we just do not pay as close attention because it's hard for us to imagine. The more we see, the more real it becomes to us, and a more part of the world we are.
