“Just when all seems to be going right, challenges often come in multiple doses applied simultaneously. When those trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow more. He therefore gives you experiences that stimulate growth, understanding, and compassion which polish you for your everylasting benefit.” ― Richard G. Scott My favorite quote.

I don't know why someone would say this....I know plenty of people who haven't "won"....it perpetuates the belief that if you live a certain way, that you will get a certain outcome....I guess eternally, maybe that is true, but not in this life.

Our lives may be hard, but by forming good habits, then we are strengthened by those habits and are able to stay hopeful and positive even in the darkest situations. I know elder Scott's perspective, like mine, is the eternities. If we are always trying our best, then when we meet face to face with our Father in Heaven it will be the ultimate win, even if on Earth it didn't feel like it, but at that point and from eternity on those pains won't be felt anymore and it will have all been worth it.

One of my favorite talks of all time. Trust in The Lord by Richard G Scott.

"Prayer is a privilege and the soul's sincere desire. We can move beyond routine and "checklist" prayers and engage in meaningful prayer as we appropriately ask in faith and act, as we patiently persevere through the trial of our faith, and as we humbly acknowledge and accept "not my will, but Thine, be done." --David A. Bednar, "Ask in Faith", Ensign, May 2008, 94–97

I usually don't care much for sappy quotes, but I always need to be reminded of this. Coveting is ugly, and, if left unattended, grows into jealousy. And jealousy can grossly interfere with God's plan for your life, but, even worse, it can interfere with His plan for someone else's life.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who love Eeyore and those who have no souls.
