"A pebble held close to the eye appears to be a gigantic obstacle. Cast on the ground, it is seen in perspective. Likewise, problems or trials in our lives need to be viewed in the perspective of scriptural doctrine. Otherwise they can easily overtake our vision, absorb our energy, and deprive us of the joy and beauty the Lord intends us to receive here on earth." --Richard G. Scott,
"Prayer is a privilege and the soul's sincere desire. We can move beyond routine and "checklist" prayers and engage in meaningful prayer as we appropriately ask in faith and act, as we patiently persevere through the trial of our faith, and as we humbly acknowledge and accept "not my will, but Thine, be done." --David A. Bednar, "Ask in Faith", Ensign, May 2008, 94–97
I usually don't care much for sappy quotes, but I always need to be reminded of this. Coveting is ugly, and, if left unattended, grows into jealousy. And jealousy can grossly interfere with God's plan for your life, but, even worse, it can interfere with His plan for someone else's life.
