after visiting Charleston last fall, I fell completely in love with shrimp & grits and more or less ordered it at every restaurant we went to. it's never quite as good at home though, so I'm always searching for that particular recipe that really knocks it out of the park for me. this one was pretty close to great though, but I chose to skip the bacon. just feels overkill.

This is shrimp and grits. Basically, if you're eating grits for breakfast, you eat them with butter (and cheese, if you're like me :3). If it's any other time of day, you put shrimp in it. Or andouille sausage. Or, in this recipe, BOTH.
