April Book to Read in the #Bathtub: Ready Player One | There’s nothing better than sitting back in the bathtub with a good book. Last time we posted about a book, we recommended October’s Book to Read in the Tub: Horns. This month we’re recommending another book that is being made into a major motion picture: #ReadyPlayerOne by Ernest Cline.
"Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline. If you grew up during the 80s, you'll love this book. Nostalgia City.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. So I loved this. A mix between Enders Game and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Crazy future adventure with tons of 80s pop culture references.
Ready Player One Signed 1st Edition by Ernest Cline: I had many books on my to-read list, but this one jumped straight to the top as soon as I got my hands on a copy. It has everything I love about video games and cartoons and anime from the'80s. The pacing of the...

The Snow Queen: Hans Christian Andersen. ""You are so clever," said the Reindeer; "you can, I know, twist all the winds of the world together in a knot. If the seaman loosens one knot, then he has a good wind; if a second, then it blows pretty stiffly; if he undoes the third and fourth, then it rages so that the forests are upturned. Will you give the little maiden a potion, that she may possess the strength of twelve men, and vanquish the Snow Queen?"

Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. A must-read if you like history, World War II, math, haiku poetry, cryptography, romance, action, technology, adventure, or computers. You'll also find out the optimum way to eat Cap'n Crunch cereal!
Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson "A novel, but the best example around of how to take esoteric ideas—number theory and cryptography—and invigorate them through a story. Just like Moby-Dick did with whaling, Cryptonomicon plays with even the most obscure details of mathematics and computer science and builds a world you can't wait to immerse yourself in."
Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. More than fifty years after Lawrence Pritchard Waterhouse and Sergeant Bobby Shaftoe are assigned to Detachment 2702, a secret cryptographic mission, their grandchildren--Randy and Amy--join forces to create a "data haven" in the South Pacific, only to uncover a massive conspiracy with roots in Detachment 2702.
Neal Stephenson's "Cryptonomicon" is a love story, a WWII novel from both sides' viewpoints, a spy novel, a computer-nerd novel, a must-read.

I bought this a few years ago for my two daughters and read it to them as their bedtime stories. We read the whole trilogy together, with me doing the voices and them urging me on. It is one of the most wonderful memories I have of that time before my older daughter hit puberty and things began to change. I reread it later just for me, because this is not a YA novel series. It's a human novel series.

Have you ever heard someone say: "You are what you read", I certainly have on several occasions and I agree with the statement in part. I am a book lover myself, and they are a wonderful resource for personal development. However, I do believe that your past and daily experiences and connections with people are a great complement for self-knowledge and discovery...understanding who we truly are....

This book is another one of his I wouldn't recommend anyone read ever, it's so bad it hurts. Hard to believe the same guy that wrote this ever wrote anything good really.
Hugh Farnham was a practical, self-made man and when he saw the clouds of nuclear war gathering, he built a bomb shelter under his house, hoping for peace and preparing for war. The same nuclear war that had catapulted Farnham two thousand years into the future had destroyed all civilization in the northern hemisphere. In the new world order, Farnham and his family, being members of the race that had nearly destroyed the world, were fit only to be slaves.

This sample book list for novice science fiction readers provides numerous suggestions for interesting reads. Books including robot themes, such as "I, Robot" by Issac Asimov and "Neuromancer" by William Gibson, pose important questions for readers; Do robots have a consciousness similar to humans? Where does being human end and being simply a machine begin? Who gets to decides this? -Isabel
I, Robot - Isaac Asimov - Vintage Science Fiction Sci-Fi Novel Paperback Book - 1970 - Fell in love with Sci-Fi magazine when I was 13...been hooked on the genre ever since...
I, Robot, Isaac Asimov -Isaac Asimov is one of the absolute giants of the science fiction genre, and this is one of his best-known collections. Will Asimov’s ideas of what robots will do come true? Maybe. But the most interesting thing is that the near-future in which he set some of these stories is actually the present time in which we’re living.
I, Robot is a collection of nine science fiction short stories by Isaac Asimov, first published in 1950. The stories are woven together as Dr. Susan Calvin tells them to a reporter (the narrator) in the 21st century. Though the stories can be read separately, they share a theme of the interaction of humans, robots and morality, and when combined they tell a larger story of Asimov's fictional history of robotics.
In The 1950s, Science Fiction Became A Major Genre In Literature. Many Great Authors Of Sci-Fi Began Their Careers In The 1950s, Such As Isaac Asimov, The Author Of "I, Robot." In This Novel, Asimov Discusses The Three Laws Of Robotics And How They Have Influenced The Development Of Robots Over The Years. "I Robot" Is A Futuristic Novel That Leaves The Reader With A Vision Of A Future That Could One Day Be A Reality.
