"One depressing aspect of American politics is the susceptibility of the political and media establishment to charlatans. Mother. I love this shot of a mother in the tent in depession times. Children huddled and a worry of what is to come of her and her family. Taken by Natl Geo, the mother and children are fine now. Hard times that we have all gone through in different degrees. Remembering things could be worse and you have to get up and dust yourself off and step forward. This speaks to me. Love the photo.
This stunning young woman was photographed in the Philippines by Dutch photographer Francisco Van Camp, in 1875. The photo’s inscription indicates that she is a “Mestiza Sangley-Filipina,” an ethnic term used in the 16th to 19th-century Spanish Philippines to indicate someone from Chinese descent.
COSMOS- rebooted Sunday March 9, 2014 **** YAY!!!!!! I'm too young to have been exposed to the original program, but this excites me. Of course, I could sit and watch Neil deGrasse Tyson read a grocery list and be entertained.
