1 lb 90% lean ground beef, lean


1 15 ounce can Black beans
2 tsp Garlic powder
1 Red onion, thinly sliced (about 2 cups), large


1 Egg, large


2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
3 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worchester sauce

Baking & Spices

1 tsp Black pepper
2 tsp Brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp Kosher salt

Oils & Vinegars

4 tbsp Olive oil, extra virgin

Bread & Baked Goods

6 Hamburger buns, whole wheat lightly toasted


8 oz Gorgonzola cheese

I love black bean burgers. I would omit the curry and substitute chipotle chili powder for the cayenne pepper for a smoky flavor.

These were pretty decent. I used white beans instead of black and cauliflower greens + red bell pepper instead of mushrooms. I also broiled each side for an extra 3 minutes after I baked them.

delicious! used shredded sweet potato instead of red pepper. next time use both and punch up the spices. Maybe add jalapeno & corn?? didn't cook on the grill, thought it would fall apart. Will make again - great for summer bbq's!
