Ottoman matchlock gun, 17th century, two-stage octagonal sighted barrel inlaid with silver arabesques, strapwork and flowerheads along the breech and originally with a silver band around the muzzle, standing single-aperture back-sight inlaid with silver lines, pivoting pan-cover, Circassian walnut stock, 93.7 cm. barrel, a rare surviver of the type captured at the relief of the siege of Vienna in 1683. Most were broken up and the barrels only retained for remounting.
