Scavenger Hunt for Classroom Vocabulary in French

Back to school activity! This is a scavenger hunt which is played in groups on classroom objects in French. My students love this game because they get to be active and also work in teams. For this activity, the teacher will place the scavenger cards (definition and term) in random order either in the classroom or in the hallway. Groups will choose one student to go out and search for the first card (labelled 1). That student will return to their group and give them the definition. Together they will try to figure out which vocabulary work it matches with. Once they do, they confirm with the teacher and move on to the next card. The first group to finish all terms correctly will win the game. This is a great diagnostic for me because it gives me a chance to see if students are aware of some French reading strategies such as les mots amis.
