Product Details

Help your students learn how to be kind and caring friends through journaling. This product is designed to help students who struggle with friendships. It is a temporary behavior plan that allows students to analyze their friendships and focus on their own friendship skills with the guidance of their teacher. Students begin by creating a contract with one or more of their friends. All the friends in the group will help create their "friendship rules" and will sign the contract. Each day, the friends will journal about their day as they respond to three prompts: 1. I was a kind and caring friend today when ... 2. I wasn't a kind and caring friend today when ... 3. When my friend ___________________, I feel ... At the end of each day, students "Check-In" to rate how well they followed their friendship rules. This is a great time for reflection on their behaviors with the guidance of the teacher. You may choose to set a goal for your students, such as 5 or 10 days of a "We Did GREAT!" rating. When they achieve their goal invite them to have lunch with you in the classroom or another reward all the friends will enjoy.
