"The Walking Dead": You can’t hit the prison where the zombie apocalypse drama was shot – because it was at a studio – but you can visit the adopted hometown of the uber-creepy Governor in Woodbury, which is really the quaint town of Senoia. Or hit Atlanta to see 1) the Center for Disease Control, which blew up at the end of Season One; 2) Freedom Parkway (above), featured in the show's opening titles; or 3) the home of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) at 817 Cherokee Ave, SE, Atlanta, GA 30315.

"Homeland" : Emmy nominees Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin filmed the show in the Tar Heel State, with The Ritz-Carlton at 201 E. Trade St. the place where Carrie (Danes) begins to suspect that Brody (Damian Lewis) is hiding something. Other scenes were shot there in the presidential suite, the grand ballroom and the upstairs indoor pool. Speaking of Brody, he was seen in one episode at Ed's Tavern, at 2200 Park Road, meeting up with former brothers in arms.

Though it screams Gotham, “Mad Men” is often filmed on location in Los Angeles. The show has repeatedly used the Millennium Biltmore Hotel (506 S. The real Downton Abbey – Highclere Castle in Berkshire in the UK – has become a major tourism draw, with regular tours available. Fans can also check out Bampton, the Oxfordshire village that appears as the hamlet in the show, and see where Matthew Crawley, heir to Downton Abbey, originally lived before he married Lady Mary -- and ultimately died a three-hankie death in an auto accident.

"Sherlock Holmes" : 221B Baker St. is the home to "Sherlock's" titular character played by nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, but fans will have to visit 187 North Gower St. if they really want to see the real front door that was filmed in the show. Next door is Speedy’s Café, which is frequently featured. Also, check out St. Bart’s Hospital on West Smithfield London, EC1A 7BE, to see where other key scenes were shot.
