At the beginning of every month, everyone starts off in the homework club. If they turn all their homework in on time, then they get to stay in the club! If they don't then they are out of the club. Students who turn all their homework in for the entire month get to come to the monthly homework club lunch.
Friday Journals--kids write a note on Friday to their parents telling what they learned that week. The parents write a short response back to their child, and the child brings the notebook back Monday. Each parent response earns a sticker for the cover. Love it--a great way to practice letter writing, and to get parents involved. Helps the children ingrain what has been taught into their memory too.

Fluttering Through First Grade: Bathroom policy - students make a tally in the box with their number every time they go to the bathroom. This way you don't have to deny anyone who actually needs to go, but you have a record for both the student and their parents if someone is going too often.

FUN Hallway Behavior Management Idea. Before you leave the classroom pick a chip with a students name but don't tell who it is. They are the mystery walker and you are watching that student the entire time. If they do a good job in the hall, they get a ticket or prize.
