Chassagne-Montrachet, l'Abbaye de Morgeot-   In this village, the vine has been cultivated since the 3rd century, mainly by religious orders until the Revolution.    The Abbey of Morgeot is situated in the southern part of Chassagne-Montrachet, in the direction of Santenay on the edge of a hill. The soil is made of limestone of Bathonien, white marls and also contains iron, which favours the development of Pinot Noir. Such a combination produces an incomparable Chardonnay.
