Building Shapes with Colored Craft Sticks. Great idea!
TEACHING SHAPES -- colored craft sticks are labeled with the number of sides each shape has... 3 purple sticks = a triangle. The children will choose a color and build the matching colored shape.
I used this idea today with my kindergarteners. First we used coloured sticks with little velcro dots on the end to make shapes, then they made their own shapes with popsicle sticks and playdough. Building Shapes by abeecpreschool #Kids #Shapes

The Activity Mom: Number Towers...what an easy number recognition and ordering activity!!! For Second Grade, have bigger numbers. Maybe in a math center and have them out of order in a tower so that they have to put them in order then write them down on a worksheet/journal. All towers a different number tower, so when done with one they can switch. But they have to mix up the cups before they do so, so it's not already done. Especially when moving centers for the next group.
