BOSTON APOLLO: formerly HIDDEN

An immersive imagery experience with John Singer Sargent, the most successful portraitist of his era, laying bare his relationships with models Thomas McKeller, Wilhelm Kamp and patroness Isabella Stewart Gardner desperately seeking non-portraiture as his legacy to the world of art. McKeller became Sargent’s most "useful" life drawing model, standing in for men, women, all forms of gods & white people. The painting of McKeller was never displayed publicly during either of their lifetimes.
