Bad Wedding Pics
This is from a wedding that I shot last year. The highlighted individual is not my second shooter. He's a GWC (Guy with Camera). This guy was the worst I've seen. A Canon 7D with battery grip, zoom lens, speedlite, and flash frame. I knew he was a fraud when I saw that he was trying to bounce the flash off of a 45 foot high brown ceiling. Worst part, he never posted any recessional pics while managing to ruin mine.
More flash, right? Not really. Too much flash in this image would blowout the highlights in his jacket, and her gown. A high iso setting combined with a fast, large aperture lens, could have saved this. Although it is obvious that his dark complexion, and white jacket is a photographer's nightmare, a good photographer would know how to deal with it.
At first glance, I thought this image was supposed to be viewed in a portrait orientation. Tilt your head to the right, and you'll see that it is equally bad in that orientation as well. Use of a wider angle lens, or simply taking a few steps back would have fit everyone in the frame without the awkward angle.
