Creeping Thyme. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Blooms all summer long. Will tolerate all soil types, is drought tolerant, rabbit and deer resistant. This old-fashioned perennial has a year round display of color. In early summer the plants are covered with stunning pinkish-rose flowers that last until the first hard frost. TURKISH VERONICA (Veronica liwanensis): One of the most beautiful of all ground cover plants. Spreading sheets of tiny, rounded, dark green leaves 1-3 inches tall are smothered for 1 to 3 months in spring with clusters of tiny, true blue, lipped blossoms. Foliage turns burgundy-green in fall. Yarrow. Not only does yarrow tolerate heat and drought like a champion, but this easy-growing perennial is also a great cut flower -- and deer, rabbits, and most other pests won't touch it. It comes in a number of varieties with blooms in shades of yellow, orange, red, pink, and white.
