A short lesson on writing concluding sentences. I used this in my intervention class. Contains two versions of the title page - one with a Step Up to Writing graphic, and one without.

EXPOSITORY WRITING~ Students underline or highlight using the three stop light colors. Green introduces, and circles around to end, the paragraph. Yellow is a key supporting detail. Red tells more about each supporting detail. Great visual!

Paint chip poetry has to be one of the funnest word activities to do with kids or adults. many exchanges (mixed cd's, artist trading cards, decorated recipes and paint chip words). Idea from the book Poem Crazy, Susan Wooldridge = making word tickets to collect words.  I used words from magazines and glued them on to cut up paint chips.
