Recipes > Fish Tacos with Lime-Cilantro Crema Fish Tacos with Lime-Cilantro Crema Randy Mayor Cumin, coriander, and paprika lend these fish tacos a delightfully warm, smoky flavor. They're the perfect foundation for the zippy sour cream sauce. For an appealing variation, substitute peeled medium shrimp for the snapper or romaine in place of cabbage. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents loved them. The crema sauce is especially delicious. Outstanding 12/29/11 sherrimarshall We love this recipe. Red snapper is nearly impossible to find here, so we use and white fish that flakes easily such as tilapia or cod. The crema adds so much; it's a great combination with the cabbage. Served with some seasoned black beans or rice - the perfect meal. Outstanding 12/26/11 mrscrazyed The crema is to die for. I followed suggestions from other reviewers and doubled the sour cream and omitted the mayonnaise. This made it a little tarter. And I added the cabbage immediately and let the mixture sit in the fridge while I finished the tacos. This is good enough to eat all by itself. Outstanding 12/18/11 mrshth I LOVE these tacos and even my picky husband eats them. I make extra because the leftovers reheat easily but do not taste 'fishy.' I serve them on fiber rich whole wheat tacos (low in carbs, higher in protein) which I get at Whole Foods made by Maria and Ricardos Tortilla Factory. Super delicious! Outstanding 12/13/11 legallyblonde63 love this recipe! To make it easier, I use cajun spice on the fish rather than using all of the separate spices. Also, I use red cabbage and i have my husband throw flour tortillas on the grill.. The crema does not need to be messed with, it's perfect! It was exactly like Carrabba's! I'm an amateur college cook and had not ever cook with wine. So if you're like me, I suggest using a Very Dry Sherry wine. The sauce was great! 0 people found this review Helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes | No By Choochamo on July 23, 2011 This recipe tastes exactly like Carrabbas chicken bryan. I've made it at least ten times and my family and I enjoy it very much! I actually put pasta noodles under my chicken instead of having a side. 0 people found this review Helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes | No By ATleiens on July 06, 2011 Absolutely wonderful! I almost couldn't tell the difference between what I made and actually paying $18 a plate at Carraba's. The amount of sun dried tomatoes called for were a bit much for my taste so I only use 1/2c. (if your store carries smoked sun dried tomatoes that was also a fantastic add.), and I double the basil. Love the chicken really saucy so I double the sauce as well. This dish is always a big hit with the hubby and kids! 0 people found this review Helpful. Was this review helpful to you?
