And of course, don’t forget to serve with a festive orange and black straw!
The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner has a novel tip for carving your jack-o-lantern this Halloween. Instead of starting out around the stem, cut a ring into the bottom of the pumpkin. This configuration makes it easier to remove the pulp, and easier to light, too, with the bottom serving as a convenient candle stand.
Chefs at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner create festive and unique Halloween treats for the hotel’s annual Scary Tea, like spooky and delicious monster sandwiches. To make your own: Cut the edges of bread slices off to shape into rectangles. Cut the bottom slice of bread in half, and cut the top slice zigzag across to create a ‘teeth’ look. Layer on cheese and pepperoni. Next, take a couple of pieces of pepperoni in half and fold over the top bread slice to create a mouth.

A simple Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich gets a spooky touch with a quick tip from the chefs at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. For bat shapes, the chefs suggest using pumpernickel bread. If using a ghost cut-out, use white bread. Go a step further and use the peanut butter or jelly to create a face on top of the sandwich for the ghost, bat, or whatever design you choose.
