1889 Oklahoma Land Run, Cherokee Territory. Both sides of my Father's grandparents ran in this run for land. The Doss's & the Simmon's. Robert Simmons was riding a small pony, which was really fast. But after the run, the pony just laid down and died. It gave it's all for the family.
The Eternal Flame of the Cherokee Nation. This fire is a memorial of those people who suffered and died on the infamous ‘Trail of Tears’. It also commemorates the reuniting of the Eastern and Western Cherokee Nation. This is located in Cleveland, Tennessee.
