This is the most inspiring thing I have ever read. Great for teaching students to read to themselves and visualize what they read

The voice in your head
"This must be magic!" Thought it was Shel Silverstein, but it's Bo Burnham, who admits he was "influenced by S.S." Just a bit.
I feel sorry for kids who didn't grow up listening to dramas on the radio...or reading books. Movies and TV do it all for you.....not nearly as much fun as using your imagination.

Stephen King at his best!

"Joyland" by Stephen King -- “In this thriller, Stephen King writes a coming of age story of a college student, Devin Jones who works at an amusement park. Besides Devin, there lots of characters in the book which made my head reel. There’s a murder mystery, supernatural element, heart break in this introspective writing.”—Seema at KDL’s Richard L. Root Kentwood branch
I am not a Stephen King fan, and perhaps this title isn't worth reading, but I liked the retro cover.
Set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, Joyland tells the story of the summer in which college student Devin Jones comes to work as a carny and confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will change his life forever. 2013 Full Dark, No Stars
"Full Dark, No Stars" is a collection of short (for Stephen King, anyway) stories that explore the darkest sides of humanity. These are not pleasant stories, in fact I'd categorize them as harsh. But... They _are_ extremely well-written, and extremely thought provoking. While I still don't know if I liked them, I do know that I'm still thinking about them, over a week and five other books later. I think Mr. King would take that as a compliment.

The Nothing caught us in our sleep and this is what it did to us.” “Is it very painful?” Atreyu asked. “No,” said the second bark troll, the one with the hole in his chest. “You don’t feel a thing. Fantastic garden sign that directs you to places in famous children's book. Lovely idea, especially if you have children that love to read.
Sign. As soon as I get my own place this is the first thing I'm putting by the driveway.
Love the idea of favorite book places. Put in a reading corner for kids or library!
We were going to make a sign like this once for the backyard. With mileage to our favorite places. Book locations are a great idea too.

Fables (cover by James Jean), written by Bill Willingham. All fairy and folk tale characters imaginable come together in modern day New York, facing real/fantasy-world conflicts at the same time. As a graphic novel, Fables belongs to Genre (Cult-classics), however it's story plays with Legendary and Mythical concepts. Fables also elevates Obscure tales to the front of reader's attention, creatively reinventing classic characters into 3-dimensional 'people'. Potentially legendary.
Fables. It's a graphic novel and was created way before that fairy tale show

Ivan Bilibin's 1899 illustration of Baba Yaga from the Russian fairy tale Vasilisa the Beautiful. Baba Yaga might be my favorite recurring fairy tale character.
Baba Yaga (“BA-ba YA-guh”). Also Jezibaba, meaning “Grandmother Sorceress”, a figure with striking imagery: a crone who flies through the air on a mortar and pestle, who lives in cottage that hops on the leg of a chicken. She is a Slavic goddess of the cycles of life and death, night, autumn and winter.
