Catching up on the hashtag #miss5thswhiteboard lead me to recreate this gem yesterday! Two of my favorite responses were Mars and heaven. I love my kiddos' creativity! @miss5th #iteachtoo #teachersfollowteachers #teachersofinstagram #iteachfourth
Combined #miss5thswhiteboard with an idea I heard this morning on @kearth101 on my way to work! The kids had such wonderful things to say, and it set such a great tone for our day! #tellmesomethinggood Thanks for all the whiteboard inspiration @miss5th! #teachersfollowteachers #teachersofinstagram
Turn and Talk guidelines to hang out near my class meeting area. Throughout my practicum, I had a bit of difficulty getting the students to understand and stick to these guidelines for T&T time. It can get out of hand pretty quick!
Why not use the first thing your student sees in the classroom as a way to boost both his confidence and the confidence of his peers? Take a look at some ways these teachers transformed their white boards, the centerpieces of the classroom, into tools to improve classroom climate.
I created these for my intermediate students and they really bought into it. I started off writing them myself, but as time passed we took the time to learn how to write sincere, detailed praise and thanks and it took off from there. Looks great on coloured paper and taped to the entrance of the classroom door. At the end of the year, pile up each student's 'shout-outs' and present them. I have pinned a couple other templates - for variety on the wall.
