Video: Rap artist Paperi T @ Annikki Poetry Festival 2016 in Tampere, Finland. Paperi T has long been an influence in the Finnish hip hop scene. Released last year, his first solo album achieved great commercial success despite its uncompromising nature. With the surprise success of the album, Paperi T, who has been referred to as the intellectual of Finnish rap, headlined several major festivals.

Video: American poet Gregory Pardlo & Finnish jazz combo Hot Heros @ Annikki Poetry Festival in Finland 11 June 2016. Pardlo is an American poet who won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for poetry with his second collection, Digest. In his fearlessly personal poems, Pardlo combines elements of both entertainment and high-brow culture, playing with various literary styles with a carefree approach. Pardlo performed with saxophonist Sami Sippola and drummer Janne Tuomi of the jazz combo Hot Heros.
Video: Poet Yumi Fuzuki (JP) and visual artist Hikaru Cho (JP) performing at Annikki Poetry Festival in Tampere Finland 11 June 2016. Mayu Saaritsa (FI) is reading the Finnish translations of Fuzuki's poetry made by her. Cho is best known for her fantastic 3D body paintings. With Fuzuki Cho took the stage with a fascinating combination of poetry and body painting. The model is Anu Aamu Aurora.
Video: Reijo Kela is one of Finland’s best-known and most original contemporary dancers. He is also a choreographer and performance artist. Kela has worked as a free artist for almost his entire career. At Annikki Poetry Festival, he was performing together with poet J.K. Ihalainen. Ihalainen is a poet, writer, publisher and translator. Since his first publication in 1978, he has published 35 books of poetry as well as several poetry albums.
Video: Claes Andersson is a poet, writer and jazz musician living in Helsinki. He is one of the most significant Finnish-Swedish contemporary poets. In his latest collections, he has often dealt with ageing and illness in a touching, laconic way. At Annikki Poetry Festival, Andersson was performing not only as a poet but also as a pianist.
Video: Mikko Sarvanne Hip Company & Jussi Pelkonen @ Annikki Poetry Festival 2016 Consisting of about a dozen promising jazz musicians, the Helsinki-based Mikko Sarvanne Hip Company joined forces with the young poet Jussi Pelkonen last year. The collaboration struck a chord immediately. Such a combination was previously unheard of in Finland, and they have already given some ecstatic performances. They have also recorded a joint album Muovibabylon, which came out this spring.

Pekko Käppi 2015 Annikin Runofestivaaleilla / @ Annikki Poetry Festival. Pekko Käppi is a master of the jouhikko or bowed lyre, and one of the brightest stars on the Finnish folk music scene. Juha Valkeapää @ Annikki Poetry Festival in Tampere Finland 6th June 2015. Valkeapää is known far and wide as a sound and performance artist. The multiple award-winning Valkeapää has produced numerous sound installations, performance pieces, and radio compositions. Hannu Salama & Vapaat Radikaalit (Free Radicals) @ Annikki Poetry Festival in Tampere Finland 6th June 2015. 1960s cultural militant and dyed-in-the-wool radical author Hannu Salama performing his work accompanied by a band composed of top-tier musicians and lead by Hepa Halme. The free-flow of spoken word and rhythmic musicality was a stunning combination . Hepa Halme is a jazz instrumentalist, percussionist, and composer of long standing.
Wimme Saari @ Annikki Poetry Festival in Tampere Finland 6th June 2015. Wimme Saari is the most celebrated yoik performer in Finland and a renowned Sámi artist. Mutabaruka @ Annikki Poetry Festival 2015 / Annikin Runofestivaali Jamaican dub poetry pioneer Mutabaruka began his career in the early 1970s, and had a major hand in developing the artform of dub poetry, which combines reggae rhythms with performed poetry. Mutabaraka, who has collaborated with many front-line reggae artists such as Jimmy Cliff and Gregory Isaacs, has performed internationally for decades both solo and with his band.

Laulaja-lauluntekijä Johanna Tuomisto esiintymässä Annikin Runofestivaaleilla Tampereella 7.6.2014. Kappale on Laululampehen laskeu'un (säv. ja san. Johanna Tuomisto). Tuomisto oli Hassan Blasimin ohella 2014 runofestivaalin toinen yllätysesiintyjä. Johannan hienot laulut, taiturillinen äänenkäyttö ja lämmin esiintyminen valaisivat sateisen festivaalipihan.
