My most recent portrait of ‘Gracie’ (Feb. 2019). Thanks to Michelle at Hope and Feathers Frame Shop in Amherst MassachusettsI. The drawing was done on Arches hot press mounted on a panel (Art Board) and set free floating to show the edges of the board under glass
‘illuminate’-mourning doves with this drawing, outside of mentioning that it’s 9”x21”, there is not much I can add. These 3 doves sat sunbathing when the sun peeked through, slightly moving their heads for me every few minutes and the clouds kept the extreme shadows limited. The title, ‘Illuminate’, only speaks of the brief light from the sun through the clouds, and your seeing it as I remembered it.. using a little artistic license
‘The Assertive One’ 2 female house sparrows (10x10) I had planned on several different titles in the planning stages of this, but chose this new one at 1pm today. With her wings slightly opened while calling, she clearly was the one who showed up there first… and will decide where they fly to next finished in late January/early February 2017
‘Otis Company Mill No. 1’ (title) 15”x15” 2mm Staedtler pencil on Fabrano HP paper (male house sparrow at a nest site). I’ve driven through Ware Mass many times over the last 20+ years and have stopped by this historic mill many times. If not for my wife’s family living in Ware, I might have never seen some of these buildings.
‘Holly’ although was my dog (she’d passed on almost 2 years ago), she will always be an example of the kind of dog portrait I’d like to do more of. If you’d like or know anyone who’d like to commission me for any dog portrait, I will ALWAYS MAKE MYSELF AVAILABLE … YOU CAN EMAIL ME THROUGH MY WEBSITE
