Paris, France: One of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. I have visited Paris a total of three times most recently 2011 with my mother Sandra. A truly classy city with outstanding architectural wonders including the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and Pont Neuf which is the most famous bridge in Paris. Some of the most precious and stunning art pieces reside at The Louvre, while incredible shopping can be had at the posh Champs Élysées.
Paris at night. And it's the first city with a modern sewer system.

Bodleian Library, Oxford, England, UK. The Bodleian Library is the library of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1602, making it one of the oldest libraries in Europe. The Library has over 11 million items, and many, many items of historical import, including four copies of the Magna Carta, a Gutenberg Bible, and Shakespeare’s First Folio (from 1623.) The Library consists of multiple buildings, perhaps the most visually interesting of which is Radcliffe Camera, built in 1737-1749 to house the Radcliffe Science Library. It’s the earliest circular library in England, and has appeared in multiple films, including “Young Sherlock Holmes”, “The Saint”, “The Red Violin”, and “The Golden Compass”.
Bodleian Library, Oxford, England, the main research library of the University of Oxford, is one of the oldest libraries in Europe, and in Britain is second in size only to the British Library. Under the Legal Deposit Libraries Act 2003 it is one of six legal deposit libraries for works published in the United Kingdom and under Irish Law it is entitled to request a copy of each book published in the Republic of Ireland.
The Radcliffe Camera at Oxford University in England. The building was designed by James Gibbs in the English Palladian style and built in 1737–1749. It originally housed the Radcliffe Science Library, but has since changed its purpose to house additional reading rooms of the Bodleian Library, as well as having below-ground storage space for 600,000 books. It is the earliest example of a circular library in England, and amusingly, according to Wikipedia, J. R. R. Tolkien (author of The Lord of t

Bodleian Library, Oxford University. I was happy to do so as the Bodley was one of my favorite places. I loved my live at Oxford. Four years previously, I'd finally received my doctorate in British Mythology, and had applied for the dream job of assisiting the quietly brilliant Professor Stephens Predictable, that's what my life was. Quiet and predictable...safe.
Known to Oxford scholars as “Bodley” or simply “the Bod”, The Bodleian Library serves as the main research library of Oxford University. This library was also used as a set in the Harry Potter films.
The granting of your Bodleian library card makes you an official student and member of Oxford University. With it, you can access almost any book you can imagine. In order to obtain this card however, you must go through a delightfully medieval ceremony which includes a very solemn recital of these words: I hereby undertake not to remove from the Library, or to mark, deface, or injure in any way, any volume, document, or other object belonging to it or in its custody; nor to bring into the Library or kindle therein any fire or flame, and not to smoke in the Library; and I promise to obey all rules of the Library. ----------- The Bodleian Library, Oxford University, England. Known to Oxford scholars as “Bodley” or simply “the Bod”, it serves as the main research library of the university. The Library occupies a group of five buildings built from the late medieval period to the 1930s (the New Bodleian). Arts End was built in 1610-1613 and was the first English instance of book shelving being built along the walls, instead of in bays or lecterns jutting out from the walls. The windows at the end of the photo are part of another extension done in 1634 known as Seldon End. The Bodliean is one of the oldest and most beautiful academic libraries in the world.
