⛵️️ Maria Elena VIEIRA DA SILVA painter (1908-92)

Vieira Da Silva was a leading member of the post-war abstract art (art informel) movement, although her paintings often maintain a link to reality, such as urban spaces and interiors. Using mostly a restricted palette like the cubists, she created distinctive arrangements of small chromatic blocks to depict space on the two-dimensional canvas. She was married to painter Arpad Szenes whom she met in Paris where her main dealer was Jeanne Bûcher.
