René Magritte - Golconda, 1953. Oil on Canvas. One interpretation is that Magritte is demonstrating the line between individuality and group association, and how it is blurred. All of these men are dressed the same, have the same bodily features and are all floating/falling. This leaves us to look at the men as a group. Whereas if we look at each person, we can predict that they may be completely different to another figure.

Obra de 1928 intitulada 'The False Mirror' (O espelho falso). Pintada por René Magritte, que foi um dos principais artistas surrealistas belgas, ao lado de Paul Delvaux. Nascido em 1898, testemunhou a retirada do corpo de sua mãe, que suicidou-se por afogamento nas águas do Rio Sambre, ainda aos 14 anos de idade. Suas obras são classificadas como "surrealismo realista" ou “realismo mágico”. Em 1927 (aos 29 anos) mudou-se para Paris.
