I Am A Feminist Mother

Inspired by my character Annie in my new novel, I'll Take What She has, I created the I Am A Feminist Mother Photo Exhibit (and a contest to win both of my books) to capture the diversity of feminist mothers and to show that mothers who want to support and empower women don't fit into any stereotype! I want to encourage and lift mothers up and through these images inspire others while expanding what it means to be a feminist mother; it's not what you think! Send me your picture!

This wonderful image of my mother-in-law, a pharmacist, doesn't capture the way she raised her children, one boy and one girl, equally. Wish it could!

People often think a feminist is someone who doesn't like children. My friend, the amazing mother of four, really does have it all.

I feel this image holds some of that wonderful sweetness in being a mother, its gentle, quiet, joyful moments--and here my friend, a mother with two daughters.

I captured my mother, Nancy Thayer, with chocolate and champagne on a bed of books! She is my original feminist mother, a tremendous inspiration for my novels too.

A self-portrait with laundry! This was the first image for the exhibit and contest inspired by I'll Take What She Has.

I took this photograph of my oldest friend and her son to capture his energy and her calm. It was her idea to read the ARC of I'll Take What She Has! Love the product placement.
