New York City's World Trade Center. The Twin Towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001 after a terrorist attack that would forever change the country. To this day we mourn the passing of all the innocent lives lost on account of those attacks. A New York Skyline forever altered. It's beauty and majesty are missing both towering above the other buildings and in our hearts. Never Forgotten.
Today is a day to remember all the heroes we lost 12 years ago. It's also a day we can stand together in prayer for our country. We will never forget those who fought in response to the attacks on September 11th 2001. #9-11-01#NeverForget God bless America.
The twin Towers: My city is still beautiful! We ll always remember those who lost their lives on 9-11-01
Even though I was just a little kid when the towers were hit, I'll always remember the terrible and sad tragedy that took place September 11, 2001! Praying for all the people who lost their loved ones! Tomorrow we all remember 9.11.01!
9-11-01 The bombing of the World Trade Center. But for the bombing of Pearl Harbor, it is the only time the US has been attacked. We dealt with the attack on Pearl Harbor - the World Trade Center is yet to be reckoned with - and it is a reckoning that is needed-A making right of a terrible wrong to innocent people from the US as well as people from all over the world that were there in the Trade Center that day.
One of the most tragic events of our generation - the September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, was captured and broadcast on live television. Humans can now see and hear things almost as they happen. Is instantaneous broadcasts really that good for human kind? We can now have live images from anywhere in the world in our living room. From hockey games to battle field footage, the possibilities are endless.
...was there 2 c them when 1st being constructed (1968) - because the base was a considerable amount underground, it was referred to as "the bathtub" - was there in the 90's with Ben, Steph (Potts-Isaly) & sister - a photo of the kids in the crown of the Statue of Liberty with the twin towers in the backgroun was taken; we could have never predicted how much that backdrop would change (9/11/01); mom & I returned in 2011 to see the new construction that is taking their place. ~ Trish

United Airlines Flight 175 heading towards the south tower of the World Trade Center / this article is a whole collection of stories and quotes from the Columbia Center for Oral History / "What is amazing is that in that moment, there was a moment before — that we saw that plane, that second plane — and there was a moment after, and it’s like two different worlds, those two moments. I mean, literally, I can feel like I can remember the exact second when the whole world changed and my life changed forever. Because one minute, it was a building on fire and the next minute, none of us were safe. That’s what it felt like. There was no sense of where to go, what to do, how to protect ourselves, what was going to happen next."
