Okay. Tagine (preferably the vegetarian kind), where have you been all my life? My boys inhaled the one I whipped together tonight from the Cooks Illustrated magazine I bought at Whole Foods. @globaltable I know - not exactly Algerian, but I am at least in the vicinity! :) I love that my 5YO wants to know what country we're cooking from next!
Shaved asparagus & white bean salad. You might think I'm nuts serving this to a 2YO and 5YO, but you know what - they ate it! (or parts of it). I managed to convince 2YO that the green asparagus shavings were "noodles" and he went on to slurp them up and ate a few beans too. My 5YO didn't fall for the noodle trick, but it didn't matter because he loves anything with shaved parmesan cheese. I served this with a lightly baked talapia seasoned with lemon, fresh herbs & a few capers. Go mom! :)
