Man's sheer cotton neck stock, English, 1795-1811. This stock is made of 62" of fine cotton gathered into the 3" wide linen tabs that fastened at the back of the neck. The stock has a history of being worn by John Knight (d. 1850) of Wolverley, England, at his wedding. It is not known whether it was his first marriage to Helen Charlotte Hope in 1795 or his second to Jane Elizabeth Winn in 1811.
